The event will start with the speech and drama sections at Orange Function Centre, which will feature more than 600 entries.
Eisteddfod vice-president Helen Croke was pleased with the number of entries this year, saying the sections were beneficial, not only to keep children learning poetry, but for their public speaking and improvisation skills.
"It provides them with skills that guide them all through their lives," she said.
Mrs Croke said some entrants preferred the improvisation sections because they did not have to memorise anything, which could be as simple as telling a story, while others wrote their own poems.
The dance sections will start on August 11 at Orange Civic Theatre, with the school group sections held at Orange Function Centre on August 16.
The vocal and instrumental sections will start on August 25 at Orange Regional Conservatorium.
Tickets go on sale for the dance groups weekend on Monday through Orange Civic Theatre - due to high demand, sales are limited to six per transaction.
There is still room for more volunteers to help out during the month-long event - to sign up, ring Mrs Croke on 0420 298 639.
