Police are appealing for information after a man was tied up in the bathroom during an armed robbery at the Victoria Hotel on Saturday morning.

Central West Police District detective inspector Bruce Grassick said police were asking the public for information of the attack, which began at about 5.15am on Saturday.
The offender was "brandishing a longarm and a knife" during the attack, where he encountered a male cleaner employed by the hotel and tied him up.

"The offender has then gone through that hotel and taken a small sum of money, was in there for an extended period of time and left over the back fence heading towards the railway," Mr Grassick said.
Mr Grassick said the investigation was in its "very early stages", and police were searching for a male wearing dark clothing, who had his face covered during the attack.

He confirmed the 64-year-old victim hadn't been seriously injured during the attack.
"He was extremely traumatised as you can imagine by the incident," he said.
"The victim was freed as the offender was leaving, and only had a small injury as a result."
Police are appealing for anyone who had seen someone near the premises from 5.10am to 6am to come forward or to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
