"You'll have to speak up I'm wearing a towel", "bake him away, toys" or "if a cow ever got the chance he'd eat you and everyone you care about" - some of the timeless, hilarious and largely irrelevant quotes from The Simpsons that could prove very useful next month.

For those who boast an intricate knowledge of the longest-running scripted, prime-time television series of all-time or just enjoy trotting out its most-irreverent quotables, The Family Hotel is providing the perfect time to put that to good use with its Simpsons trivia night on Thursday, August 8.
A host of four-fingered-inspired foods like the Krusty Burger and cocktails such as the Marge, Homer's Doh!-nut martini and the green apple squishy will be on offer as well.
Of course, there'll be a cocktail inspired by the infamous Flaming Moe too, although the secret ingredient won't be Krusty's Non-Narkotik Kough Syrup for Kids nor will Steven Tyler and Aerosmith be on hand to indulge.
With the hordes no doubt boning up on their knowledge of Ken Griffey's grotesquely swollen jaw, Stewart the duck's work habits and the world-renowned Inanimate Carbon Rod, themed trivia is something licensee Michael Wilkson wants to continue at the Family Hotel in the coming months.
"We'll be looking to do these kind of trivia nights around the first Thursday of month," he said.
"The next one will be Harry Potter, but we'll also look to do Disney, Friends, Pixar and Marvel nights."
Prizes include $100 cash for first prize, a $50 venue voucher for second and $25 venue voucher third, and even if you'd prefer a peanut remember, as Homer Simpson eventually deduced, money can buy many peanuts.
There'll also be five other prizes up for grabs for contestants.
Bookings for the night are essential for the night and can be taken by calling 6331 1353 or by emailing manager@familyhotel.com.au.
