Veritas House will host an event for anyone from the Western region who is homeless or at risk of being homeless, at the Orange Function Centre on August 2.
The event will be based on Homeless Connect events held annually in the Sydney and Hunter region and will take place on the eve of National Homelessness Week.
We also hope that this event will help break down the stigma about homelessness in the region
- Veritas House CEO Jody Pearce
More than 30 services will send representatives to the event, including education and employment providers, legal and financial aid, specialist homelessness services, health, mental health and disability providers.
Event attendees will also be provided with morning tea and lunch by St Vincent's De Paul, TAFE NSW and Ashcroft's IGA's Lets Make Better.
Veritas House CEO, Jody Pearce said they hope to strengthen support for people experiencing homelessness or doing it tough.
"We also hope that this event will help break down the stigma about homelessness in the region and encourage enhanced community support in the future," Ms Pearce said.
There will be free community transport from Bathurst, Cowra, Dubbo and Parkes, although spaces are limited.
Anyone interested in booking a free return ticket should call 1300 01 1973.
