The unofficial reading didn't go above zero degrees for 60 hours from Saturday morning until Monday lunchtime, sending residents reaching for the nearest hot water bottle or blanket.

The city is set for double digit maximums as the sun shines next weekend but next Saturday morning will start at -3 degrees before climbing to 10, while Sunday's forecast is from one degree to a balmy top of 13. However, next to no rain is forecast.
