Ava Cole and Clarke led their Hunter-Western under-12 girls' side to the decider where they edged out by overall champions Sydney Scorpions, while Jack Cole and French did the same for their under-16 boys' Hornets outfit, who were beaten by Sydney Mets in the grand final.
Along with Ella Knowles, Ava Cole was one of two Hornets named as links in the merit side while Clarke was selected as a middle, Jack Cole earned his spot as a link as well while French was named as a winger.
The Thunder quartet were among the 19 Hornets named across the under-12, under-14 and under-16 merit sides after Hunter-Western rolled to a title win and three other grand final appearances in those divisions.
Than Jarmain, Toby Winter, Toby McDonald and Jai Callaghan were all named from the Hornets' under-12 boys' title-winning outfit.
The Hornets also claimed the under-18 boys' trophy and made an appearance in the equivalent girls' division grand final, however NSW Touch Football doesn't name merit sides in the eldest age group.
Instead, players are identified as potential squad members for state development sides, which contest the National Youth Championships in September. Those sides are named after the school-based state competition, and will announced on July 20.
