Fire and Rescue NSW was called to the roundabout at 8.10am following reports cars were losing traction on the road.
Senior firefighter Shane Brinkworth confirmed the eastbound lane had been slippery but crews had made it safe by sweeping Sphag Sorb on the surface.
"We have [Orange City] Council attending with the streetsweeper," he said.
The southbound lane of Lords Place was temporarily closed during the work and FRNSW directed flow through the roundabout for almost an hour.
