Heifer Station Wines James Thomas said it's a sign of a robust tourism industry when visitor numbers to the cellar door are consistently higher all-year round.
He said Orange City Council and Orange360 campaigns to attract different demographics - including sporting families and young couples - have paid off.
"The extend the weekend campaign to get people to arrive for sunset on Friday and stay until Sunday afternoon has done well too," he said.
Mr Thomas was with Heifer's Michelle Stivens and Nick Garton, as well as Orange Visitor Information Centre staff and Silver Compass Tour's Kelly Picarazzi, for the formal announcement of the Orange 2019 Regional Tourism Award nominees.
Held annually, the awards have recognised 150 leading tourism businesses, events and visitor experiences.
Heifer Station Wines has been named in the Tourism Wineries, Distilleries & Breweries' Category, the Orange Visitor Information Centre is in the Visitor Information Services category while Silver Compass Tours have been named in the Excellence in Food Tourism category.
Ms Picarazzi said over the last 20-years fresh ideas, including the Winter Fire Festival, had made Orange an "aspirational destination" all year round.
"August was traditionally a dead month but last year the place was rocking," she said.
The three winners are now up for NSW Tourism Awards.
