Bottle lids are completely recyclable, with a company called Envision Hands turning them into prosthetic hands and arms for children in need.
Nigel and Lisa Baldwin are looking for volunteers across the Central West, from Dubbo to the Blue Moutains, to be collection points for people donating bottle caps for the charity.
Mr Baldwin met Envision founder Tim Miller at Summernats several years ago, and this week was asked if he wanted to be the Central West coordinator.
"We're trying to get anyone we can onboard, really," Mr Baldwin said.
"We've already got two onboard [as collection points], Cumnock General Store and Molong Bakery as well as our collection point at the Royal Hotel Cumnock."
A Facebook group, Lids4Kids - Central West, has been set up for those who want to be involved.
