Orange High's netball side has always been a jewel in the school's crown and the Tabua Tuinakauvadra-led Hornets proved why again in Thursday's Astley Cup clash with Dubbo College, running away with an easy 53-24 victory at Sir Neville Howse Stadium.

The Hornets controlled the clash from go to woah, with shooter Milly Wilcox leading the charge as they shot to a 10-goal lead by quarter-time, extended that margin to 25 at the main break and built on it again in a dominant final term.
Orange High coach Tegan Dray was stoked with the win, for a handful of reasons.
They were really composed from the first whistle to the last whistle.

Firstly, it was exactly what her school needed in terms of the overall Astley Cup tie, they'd headed into the day-opening clash trailing their visiting Dubbo rivals by 20 points overall.
The Hornets' victory equated to a 69-31 overall points split, pushing the host school back into the lead at 259-241 heading into the basketball fixture.
"I am stoked, it was a really great game. They were really composed from the first whistle to the last whistle and after a few nerves against Bathurst last week they were much better this week, and it was a result we needed overall," Dray said.
Secondly, it was Lucy Johnson's final Astley Cup clash, as the only year 12 in the side the Hornets had set a goal to send her off a winner.

"It was special for her being the only year 12 so it was really great to be able to get her an Astley Cup double in her final year after beating Bathurst too," Dray continued.
Thirdly, Orange High's NSW Combined High Schools Knockout Finals campaign is looming and Dray said beating two "high quality" sides in the lead-up to that top 16 tournament was a huge box ticked.
"They're both high quality sides, Dubbo and Bathurst, so it's good to face them both in the lead-up," Dray explained.
"We're lucky that a lot of the girls play together on Saturdays in the (Orange Netball Association) Toyota Cup too, that's a big part of it too."

The visiting side's effort was unquestionable and their ball movement in particular was excellent, but as Dubbo coach Rebecca May said Orange High were simply too strong.
While a handful of the Hornets were superb Dubbo's Payton Reynolds, who played goal attack, was among the best on the court from either side.
"The girls played really hard and they tried their best, the effort was definitely trhere," May said.
"The Bathurst game was totally different they were a very young side and we hadn't played them before. We'd played Orange before and they'd beaten us before, they just had a lot of strength again and their shooters were pretty spot on."
