The festival will enter full swing through its two centrepiece events: this Saturday's Ignite the Night and next Saturday's Brew and Bite.
Both events will feature a range of food vendors along Keppel Street, as well as an ice rink, ferris wheel and a carousel.
Bathurst mayor Graeme Hanger said they'd changed things up this winter, adding Ways of Seeing to the lights lineup.
"The Ways of Seeing project is new to the illuminations this year and will feature in the Bathurst Library forecourt and Machattie Park," he said.
An interactive game called 'Rain Run' will take place in Court House Lane, encouraging members of the community to get involved with the illuminations.
The festival will run from July 6 to 21. For more information, visit www.bathurstwinterfestival.com.au.
