Police are hunting a man over an attempted robbery at the McDonald's fast food restaurant on Bathurst Road, Orange on Wednesday morning.

Central West Police District Chief Inspector Peter Atkins said the man entered the store at about 2.30am.
Chief Inspector Atkins said the man demanded money from a shop assistant. He said the man was armed with a "kitchen-style knife."
However, when he was refused money the man left the shop. Chief Inspector Atkins said the man was described as being of dark appearance, wearing dark clothing and about 170 centimetres tall.
