IPLAY
"This year we have been doing iPlay which is sport based activities, run by Ian Moyes. This is the first time we have done this program. Mr Moyes did lots of ball games and Miss Mills organised this new program. Mr Moyes trained us last week and the Manildra kids are loving iPlay."

WESTERN CROSS COUNTRY
"Yesterday I went to Western Cross Country after training for it at school and at home, and I came fourth. I am now going to State for the two kilometre run Sydney. I am proud to have made it through all four events and I am looking forward to representing Manildra Public School in July at State. It's really an amazing feeling when you get to go to State running."

TECHNOLOGY AND ROBOTICS
"At Manildra Public School we have a program about cyber safety online which is being taught by Mrs Miller. She is teaching us to be safe and sensible online. We have been watching video clips and looking at websites to learn about it. We have also learnt that kids under 13 should not have Snapchat, Facebook or Instagram, although most children in our class have online accounts to talk to their family and friends. We have been having lots of fun!"

DANCING
"Every Friday we have been dancing to "High Hopes" and Mrs Kylie Haigh, from the Dance Centre, is our teacher. We are nearly finished our dance and I hope we are going to get a place at this years eisteddfod. We will also be doing the School Spectacular this year with the OSSA Small Schools."

MUSIC AND INSTRUMENTS
"Every Wednesday, Mrs Lyndall Scott teaches the Manildra students how to play instruments. We also learn songs to go with the instruments. We all have great fun. We play drums and a lot of other instruments and we also do lots of group work. Mrs Acott does lots of great music with us and we really enjoy all the exciting lessons she does."

Bowen Public School's Gratitude Wall
Students at Bowen Public School are learning to be thankful and grateful as a way to bounce back from everyday challenges. 'Bounce Back' is an award winning positive education approach to wellbeing, resilience and social-emotional learning, and Bowen student Cooper Ostini was on hand to tell us more about Bounce Back.
"We have been learning about how to bounce back from problems. It can help make us feel happy again after a sad time or bad day. It can help us to be thankful and realise just how lucky we really are," he said.
"At Bowen Public School we made a gratitude wall and everyone in the school has been writing something they are thankful for on colourful slips. The gratitude wall is near the hall so everyone can see it on their way to class and make them feel happy."
"I love the gratitude wall because it makes me feel better from a bad day, be a positive tracker and focus more, all of which makes me feel good."

Orange Public School
Orange Public School (OPS) is the best school, it's true. Not only is it located in the heart of Orange, it's also the oldest school, dating back to 1808 and we have beautiful heritage buildings that are used by many community groups.
From a student's perspective, it has so many extra-curricular activities to offer including TOM, clubs, choir, dance, sport and band. Every year we are rewarded with the "Cliffhanger" or rock wall for our fantastic behaviour. Our P&C organises a movie night or a disco every term to raise money for the school and a lot of this money goes towards upgrading our technology, so every classroom has a new smart TV and access to touch screen computers.
'Deeds not words'.... we love Orange Public School!

Our playgrounds are constantly being made more enjoyable and fun. In our Primary department we have new surfaces for the netball and basketball courts, and in our Infants department, trees, rocks and logs are being placed in the playground for kids to play on.
Plus our canteen is amazing with a menu is always growing, offering healthy food which is often provided from our very own school garden. You can purchase beetroot relishes and dips with carrots and cucumber sticks made in our very own canteen kitchen.
OPS students love sport, whether it's playing for fun or representing the school at District, Western or State level. Every lunch and recess you'll see kids outside enjoying themselves and happily playing with their friends.
This year, we are hosting an exchange program for a week in August where 20 Chinese students and their teachers are visiting our school to learn about Australia and our schooling system. We can't wait for this amazing experience.
