Police minister David Elliott has indicated he might visit Orange to see first-hand the key issues facing police in the region.

Member for Orange Phil Donato said he met with Mr Elliott on Wednesday to outline the situation regarding crime and police resources in his electorate.
"He indicated he's prepared to listen and potentially visit [Orange]," Mr Donato said.
The meeting follows a comment by Mr Donato to bring the spate of car fires in Orange this year to the attention of the state government.
Mr Donato said after talking to Police Commissioner Mick Fuller this year he was expecting an extra six police officers would start in Orange from next month.
When contacted by the Central Western Daily last month about the car fires Mr Elliott said there would be 1500 new police across NSW in a $583 million investment.
"This will include an extra 18 Rural Crime investigators for regional NSW to target country crime including stock theft, illegal hunting, stealing, trespass and firearms offences," he said.
