Orange's long-awaited $25 million sporting precinct has been given the green light with the state government to provide the full funding, it was announced in Tuesday's state budget.

It will now be up to Orange City Council to develop detailed plans to present to the government for approval for the work to start.
The government has not set a time limit on the funding.
The money has been reserved as part of the $500 million Growing Local Economies Fund "for a purpose built sporting precinct at Orange."
The Orange Sporting Precinct will be on council-owned land off the Northern Distributor Road near Ophir Road.
The sports hub would include an AFL, cricket and multipurpose oval, an athletic field and track with covered, tiered seating, and a main rugby union/league field with a 1500-seat grandstand and seating mounds, with a total capacity for 8500.
Premier Gladys Berejiklian promised the funding during this year's state election campaign on the proviso the Nationals candidate Kate Hazelton was elected.
However, this did not happen, but the government has now agreed to commit to the promise.
The budget also included $1.2 million for upgrade works at the Orange courthouse.
