Torin Hando's Peak Hill Roosters produced an important 34-22 win over Cargo on Sunday to maintain touch with the Cup's top five, with the tri-colours now just a win off fifth spot.
The live-wire Roosters captain-coach has the likes of former Group 11 players Blaize Fuller and Luke Thompson at his disposal in 2019 and both were tremendous for the red, white and blues as Peak Hill kicked off the second round of the season with a win, reversing their round one 42-26 loss to the Blue Heelers.
Hando's Roosters skipped out to a 24-12 lead at the break at Peak Hill Oval, the hosts then bumping out their lead to 28-12 with 20 minutes remaining.

Cargo was missing coach Anthony Redfern and five-eighth Matt Clarke but has recruited smartly, with props Terawhiti Cooper and Arty Shead in blue for season 2019.
That go-forward helped give the Heelers a sniff at the back end of the game and a couple of tries, one of which was converted, brought the margin back to just six points.
But with the game in the balance Redfern's men kept turning over the ball and a late converted Peak Hill try gave Hando's side a 34 - 22 win on home soil ahead of another important clash with Canowindra this weekend.

In other round 10 games, Grenfell Goannas, as expected, proved a class above the Eugowra Golden Eagles winning 84 - 12 to maintain a stranglehold on a top three place on the ladder, behind premiers Trundle and Manildra.
The Rhinos enjoyed a bye to kick-off the second round while the Boomers were up to the task against the Tigers, winning 37-24. Molong ran riot against Condobolin, racking up a 72-18 win.
Most results in league tag went as predicted: Grenfell 48-0 winners over Eugowra, Canowindra pipping Trundle 16-10, Condobolin's girls returning to form with a 32-20 victory over Molong and competition leaders Cargo storming to a 40-0 win over Peak Hill.
