In his speech he made reference to "Mr Mayor, Mr Councillor and Mr General Manager".
In terms of the representation of women in local government (currently around 35 percent across Australia, 29 percent in NSW and only 8.3 percent in Orange) his choice of language reinforces that we have a long way to go in addressing stereotypes.
It is often said "You can't be what you can't see".
The inaugural event of the Central West Women's Forum, held on Saturday, June, 15, provided an opportunity for members of our community to discuss leadership and consider how to progress more equitable representation across our community, in business and in government.
