The Kangaroos handed the Eagles, who currently sit above them on the ladder a 59-17 point loss in Saturday's clash

Bouyed by the re-addition of their representative players that travelled to Tamworth to contest the Caldwell Cup finals against Illiwarra and returned as champions, the Kangaroos have now put together back to back wins after downing Forbes' Platypi.

The result will serve to boost morale around the Kangaroos camp after their side struggled to put together wins earlier in the season.

"We're very happy with our performance today, it's the first time all year that we've put together a complete performance and to do it against Cowra, an old rival, who are very tough to beat at home, we're pretty happy," Roos coach Simon Petelo said.

"We stuck to our systems,and we've got a really good culture that's happening at our club; we'll celebrate tonight, but we've got the rest of the season ahead and we'll keep our form up."

"We had a pretty slow start at the beginning of the year, we had a young side and we wanted to consolidate a lot of that experience of the older players and get the younger players engaged in that voluntary culture, having players represent has been a real motivator to our younger players."

Nowhere is that culture more evident than in Petelo and his side's willingness to recongise faults and commit to fixing them, which he acknowledged after the game.

"Couple of lapses in our defence, we started off really really strong and moved the ball wide and got a couple of early tries, but we let them back in and that's something we've been working on, along with cutting down our error rate."

Overall, the Kangaroos scored nine tries to the Eagles three and were able to push a pace that has eluded them for much of the season, scoring tries and kicking conversions up until the final few minutes of the game.

"I think a lot of it was game management, the problem we had in the first few weeks was that we weren't playing the full eighty minutes and we didn't utilise our bench as much as we should have, but we've really looked to our bench in the last couple of weeks," Petelo said.

"We're using the strength of a twenty two man squad rather than a fifteen man squad."

The efforts were led by the versatile Luke Ryan, who racked up three tries throughout the game's middle stanza and Hamish Gordon, who kicked seven successful conversions in order to extend the Kangaroo's lead.

"I think Luke originally started out as a fullback and he had a superb game this week, he played probably the best I've seen him all year, but I think he's really growing into that position as flyhalf," Petelo said.

Anthony Golding opened up the proceedings with a try just five minutes into the game and captain Shaun McHugh crossed the line a few minutes before half-time.

Jack Davis crossed the try line after the game recommenced and Will Michell found his way to a try with just three minutes left in the game after coming on to replace McHugh in the final twenty minutes.

Michell made his club debut this season during the Kangaroo's loss to the Bulldogs and has continued to show promise.

Winger Tim Beach, who impressed in his Caldwell Cup performance and has been consistent throughout the season, also managed to score two tries in the second half.

Next week, the Roos will match up with the Orange City Lions, who currently sit at the bottom of the ladder and have struggled to find winning form, but Petelo says the Roos are well aware of how quickly a club's fortunes can turn around.

"Two of the big giants got beaten today, so that shows the calibre and how close this competition is. Our club is really coming to the forefront, so we're very happy and looking to continue that winning culture and we're pretty excited."
