The Platypi battled a severe case of the dropsies in the first half but recovered well enough to post a three-tries-to-one victory, the Lions battling injury to produce a gutsy performance following a tumultuous lead-up.
"Orange City played really well, they were very good, they lost a handful of guys to injury but they really put it to us for that entire game," Hall, who scored on his side's five-pointers, explained.
"They've had a tough period but they've got plenty of fight in them, it was a pretty tough game of rugby really.
"We dropped a lot of pill in the first half and it did hurt us but we picked that up a bit in the second half, it was good to get the win in the end, we needed it."
Along with Hall, Mahe Fangupo crossed for Forbes and so did Vili Kaufusi, while Harry Taberner scored the Lions' lone try, which was couple with a Keegan Harding penalty goal.
The 11-point win snapped Forbes' three-game losing streak and keeps them in touch with the top four, they remain just two points adrift of fourth-placed Dubbo Kangaroos, who hammered Cowra on Saturday afternoon.
The loss keeps Orange City cemented to the bottom of the table without a win, they're 14 points adrift of the top four which mathematically leaves the door open for a finals berth, should they produce late-season run.
