Organisers and traders said they believed the drought had contributed to a drop in sales, particularly for large items including antique furniture.
They said younger buyers were shying away from antique items, preferring new furniture for their homes.
However, sales of jewellery and motoring-themed items for man sheds were in demand.
Dr Sue Hatcher, who is responsible for dealer liaison for the fair said the organising Orange Zonta club expected to raise about $10,000-$12,000 from the event.
"We have 28 dealers from all over Australia. The dealers bring some different things. They have quite a rapport with the people who come to the fair," she said.
"There is some pretty spectacular jewellery out there. A lot of the furniture comes with a story, a history."
Dealer Kevin Dahye said he felt furniture sales were down. "People are still buying but there just isn't the volume. It's been OK for me," he said. Mr Dahye said his stock including a 1740 dresser.
