According to police at 12.10am the 35-year-old man's Holden Commodore was pulled over for the purpose of a random breath test.
Central West Police District Inspector Shane Jessep said the man allegedly told the officer at the scene he'd only had one drink, to which the officer replied, "It must have been one big drink".
However, the man was charged with mid-range drink driving after he registered a blood alcohol reading of 0.138.
He will appear before Orange Local Court on July 15.
