Daniel James Amon, 31, of Eliza Court at Hillside, Victoria, did not appear in Orange Local Court on Monday due to work commitments but sent in a written plea of guilty.
According to information tendered to the court, Amon and a colleague checked into a room at a Bathurst Road motel on May 30 but at 12.30am the victim, who was working at the motel, received a noise complaint for the room.
After discovering damage to two doors at the room and a broken bottle on the carpet, the victim called police but while he was waiting outside he was chased onto Bathurst Road by Amon until he was able to lock himself in the motel reception.
When police arrived they discovered the colleague had calmed Amon down but a television and its remote were smashed and Amon had cuts and scratches on both hands.
He was not interviewed by police at the time due to intoxication but at the time of his arrest he said "I kicked the TV".
Magistrate Bruce Williams fined Amon $1000 for the property damage and $500 for common assault.
