There is something about Orange and the Central West that has always stood by the tradition of "locals supporting locals", and it shows with the success of many amazing businesses and services that take care of the the regions residents, along with the tremendous investment in infrastructure across the area.
There is a wealth of opportunities both indoors and outdoors for locals and of course the thousands of tourists that visit the region each year. Musical concerts, art and theatre are mixed with fresh produce and local wine to keep people coming back for more. Sport has people out on on fields, courts and courses from the time they start to walk until it's time to retire (and quite often even after that).
However behind all of this are businesses who provide goods and services for the city, local employees and employers whose hard work keeps the businesses running and provide amazing hospitality to those who enter their doors, tradespeople whose skills are high sought after, health professionals who keep everyone fighting fit and educators who are teaching the younger population and getting them ready to continue on the hard work that has been done before them.
It is something iconic about regional Australia that when times are tough, people join together and support each other through the tough times. It reflects the strong attitudes, the resilience and the camaraderie that exists in the bush. At the same time the close bonds forged allow locals to celebrate together and enjoy the successes and events that make rural life well worth it.
