The man held one of the three division one winning entries nationally in Lotto draw 3872, drawn on Monday, May 27
Each entry took home the guaranteed division one prize of $1 million.
Confirming his win with a NSW Lotteries official this week, the man admitted he'd spent the past fortnight completely oblivious to his million-dollar windfall.
"Thank you so much," he said to NSW Lotteries officals.
"I've only just checked my ticket now! I had no idea I'd been holding a winning ticket.
I've only just checked my ticket now! I had no idea I'd been holding a winning ticket.
"I just can't believe it!"
"I don't know what I'll spend it all on! I really don't know," he said.
"I'll probably give a bit of it away and I would love to do some overseas travel. I'd love to go to Canada and a few other places in Europe and I might even go first class!"
The man, who asked to remain anonymous, purchased his winning entry at Parker's Greengate Newsagency.
Owner Stephen Parker said it's great feeling to know the winner had now checked their ticket and realised their good fortune.
"This is super exciting," he said.
"We've had a run of second division prizes lately so we had a feeling this was coming. We hope our winner enjoys every moment of his prize!"
