That's what the energies of Nita Noble and her Tigers' squad will be directed towards over the coming few weeks in the AFL Central West competition.

The side comes up against Parkes Panthers this weekend, and they are the last side the Tigers are yet to meet on the park in the AFLCW, and Noble said she wants to make sure her outfit has its forward structures working properly.

That's not to say the Tigers are taking Parkes lightly - far from it.

The two sides were due to clash the week before last, but didn't play after Parkes - who only took a dozen players to the AFLCW gala day in Bathurst - had to forfeit following injuries in their first game against the Bushrangers.

"We did watch them play, but outside a couple of ex-Dubbo players but they're an unknown until Saturday," Noble said.

"We want to work on some key fundamentals for the forward line. I think we've got quite a few good new recruits."

One of those new recruits, Jess Wright, played her first game for the Tigers at the gala day and despite having the height to chop Seaanna Linsday out in the ruck, she's likely to be another target up forward alongside Emma Clark and take tapout duties in the forward line.

"(Jess) likes the forwards and that way we can give Sea a bit of a rest from running forward so poor old Sea isn't running the entire field," Noble said.

The Tigers have always had a strong backline, and Noble said adding plenty of talent and fitness into the midfield had been a massive boost to the side in 2019, although that will take a hit this week with Erin Naden playing league tag for Group 10 against Group 11, but the forward line was the one place which needed more structure to stake a claim to being the best in the league.

"We just need to strengthen up our forward line I think we're good contenders for the Giants next time we play them and use these next few to work on our game skills," Noble said.

"We have a fair bit of work to do to prepare for them in the next few weeks, I'm positive it'll be a very competitive game.

"When we played the Bushies they had quite a few out but we were missing most of our mids so it was a learning curve for both of us but we came away with a win."

The Tigers take on Parkes Pantherettes from 12.30pm Saturday at Waratahs.
