Here at the Central Western Daily sports desk we're no stranger to making bold predictions, for me personally dealing in hypothetical is what I do best, along with finding ways to reference or quote the best of TV shows and movies constantly, of course.

I make no apologies for the latter either, if a month goes by and I've not made a gratuitous mention of The Simpsons or Keanu Reeves I consider that a complete and utter failure.
Neither I nor my colleagues are strangers to those bold predictions being wrong either, they usually are, but I'm pretty confident this one will come to fruition - following last weekend's championship double at Tamworth, Central West will dominate the NSW Country squads.
They should anyway, although we all know higher-level selections can often to be intertwined with sometimes baffling politics.
Central West CEO Matt Tink agreed when I spoke with him on Wednesday afternoon, his exact words were "you'd probably expect a lot of players to get picked, a lot of people stuck their hands up in a big way".
He went to highlight a few of the obvious players who really shone although he was quick to praise all the Blue Bulls' groups' performance, including the colts who finished an admirable fifth.
I'm going to have a pretty specific crack here though and have a look at who, in my somewhat-educated opinion, will make the cut, assuming everyone's made themselves available of course.
Firstly, the certainties.
Dubbo Kangaroos' flanker and Blue Bulls skipper Mark Baldwin is a lock. Considering his pedigree and the fact he's captained the Caldwell Cup-winning side, I'd suggest he'll be considered a leadership option for the Cockatoos too.
Incumbents Mahe Fangupo, Dan Ryan and Charlie French look to be guaranteed spots. They were all phenomenal and they've played, and performed, at that level before. French was actually my pick for player-of-the-tournament, such was his influence in the front-row.
Now let's delve a little deeper into the Caldwell Cup-winning side.
Obviously it would be tough to leave this year's MVP in Harden's Shahid Khalfan out, and former Cockatoos centre Filisione Pauta is another who should get a nod after an excellent showing.
Emus' centre Lachie Harris was dominant on day one and strong in the decider too, I can't see him being left out, while fullback Ben Lenehan, winger Joe Nash and hooker Peter Fitzsimmons are three more I'd suggest will be named.
The big one is Roos' veteran Shaun McHugh though, who for the sake of that inevitable and almost-irrelevant Keanu Reeves reference will play the role of John Wick.
Where Wick returned to his violent career as a legendary assassin following the sudden death of his wife and murder of his beloved puppy, McHugh felt a need to bring his experience and nous back to the Central West fold after watching his much-loved Blue Bulls be dismantled by Illawarra in the 2018 decider at Warren.
Drawing a long bow, sure, and while not a remorseless killing machine unleashed on sadistic mobsters like Reeves' gun-toting character McHugh was nonetheless ruthless in two relentless showings at Scully Park.
He was another who I considered among the MVP candidates and as Tink said, "he wouldn't look at place in that old, gold jersey".
Forgive me, for I didn't get the chance to watch either of the colts games and can't comment on potential selections there, so let's move on to the women.
I'd be looking at incumbents Em McDonald, Sharnah Stevens and Mel Waterford as certainties while player-of-the-tournament LillyAnn Mason-Spice is another who won't miss out.
As per my match report following their 31-nil thrashing of Central Coast in the grand final, the likes of backline stars Nicole Schneider, Milika Tuinakauvadra, Sarah Archer, Courtney Auld and Kenesha Stevens all look well and truly in line for a spot.
Amie Fazekas was massive too and Emus' Jacky Lyden was too, shifting from her customary spot in the centres to line-up on the side of the scrum.
I've just realised I've pretty much run through the entire men's and women's squads... hmmm, this is has gone from a hardly-bold prediction to a pretty run-of-the-mill one quite quickly, hasn't it?
Bugger it, pick all the Blue Bulls and be done with it.
God forbid we get a repeat of 2014 when the Blue Bulls' colts won the Rowlands Cup and only had three players picked for higher honours.
