A woman who was sentenced to jail after breaching good behaviour bonds had her sentence reduced on appeal in Orange District Court.
Sharon Sorensen, 50, formerly of Lawson Cresent, was given two concurrent 12-month jail sentences with six-month non-parole periods dating from February 27, 2019 to August 26, 2019, for breaching good behaviour bonds she was given for stealing batteries.
However, Acting Judge Geoffrey Graham reduced the concurrent jail sentences to three months meaning she was eligible for release on May 26.
A 12-month jail sentence with three-month non-parole period she was given for stealing $129.86 worth of items from Big W was also reduced to a 12-month supervised community correction order.
Judge Graham said Sorensen is also to maintain compliance with a methadone program.
