Patrick James Prevett, 18, of Glasson Drive, was sentenced in his absence in Orange Local Court where he was fined $400 and his driver's licence was disqualified for six months, back-dated to June 3.
He was stopped by police while driving along Bill Marshall Drive about 1.55pm on January 4.
He told police "I had some pot about 7pm last night".
In another matter a driver who tested positive to having methamphetamine and cannabis in his system was sentenced in his absence in Orange Local Court last Wednesday.
Andrew Peter Enslow, 28, of Amaroo Crescent, was stopped by police for a random breath test and drug test in Byng Street on November 24, 2018.
On Wednesday, he was fined $700 and his driver's licence was disqualified for six months.
According to police he said he hadn't used drugs in a week.
