The city is above the state average in all 17 measurements of crime recorded according by the Bureau of Crime Statistics and Research's quarterly report which measures crime over the 12 months leading to March 2019.
Homes in the Orange Local Government Area are 2.8 times as likely to be broken into as the average dwelling in NSW, while break and enters which don't involve houses are twice as likely to happen here.
Police recorded 201 thefts from homes in the time frame, with 25 people robbed in person.
The number of stolen cars is 2.2 times the state average, with 155 cars stolen.
Statistics mapping the trends of crimes were also released, with big upswings in two broad crime groups; stealing from motor vehicles and stealing from dwellings.
Both had gone up by 62.6 per cent and 44.6 per cent respectively in the 12 months leading to March, 2019, compared to the same period the year before.
All 15 other crime groups were all considered "stable", but the report noted the average for all 17 crime groups had increased across NSW.
The figures don't record arson or car burnings, but the Central Western Daily understands over 45 cars have been burned in the city so far in 2019, and Police Association of NSW Orange branch chairman Adam Piffarelli said the count of cars burned over the past 12 months was approaching triple figures.
