A lifelong Billy Joel fan, Manning will be performing the 'piano man's' 1977 album The Stranger in full, including the hits 'Only the Good Die Young,' 'Just the Way You Are' and 'She's Always a Woman.'
Manning will take on piano and vocal duties accompanied by Neal Sutherland on bass and Dave Egan on drums.
To Manning, the music of The Stranger is reflective of an affluent year for popular music.
"1977 was the same year Fleetwood Mac released Rumours and The Eagles unleashed Hotel California, which highlights how incredible that year was for music," he said.
"The Stranger was a pivotal album to Billy Joel's career and 'Just the Way You Are' is his biggest hit behind 'Piano Man.'"
It's wonderful to see local venues like The Victoria starting to back live music again.
- Kyle Manning
Manning, who grew up in Bathurst, has a career in music spanning over 30 years and Bathurst audiences would perhaps remember him as a key member of popular local group The Mad Arabs throughout the 1990s and 2000s.
"Any time I get to gig in my home town is a harmonious occasion," he said.
"It's wonderful to see local venues like The Victoria starting to back live music again."
Manning's bandmates also bring a wealth of musical experience to the table, with Egan a member of popular Sydney outfit The Enormous Horns and Sutherland having played bass for the likes of Sarah Blasko, Robbie Williams and Marcia Hines.
Classic album events have stated to attract significant interest in the Central West, with Orange's The Agrestic Grocer playing a key role in getting the event off the ground.
The former site of Two Heads Brewing was the original venue for classic album nights in Bathurst but since relocating earlier this year, The Victoria has taken the reins.
Manning said classic album nights allow audiences to reminisce on the records of their youth.
"When the music of Billy Joel, Paul McCartney, Elton John etc. is still enjoying success decades later, it tells you something about the quality of the product," he said.
"An album is a journey for any artist and with these events, we want to revisit these journeys and capture the essence of the songs."
The performance will take place at The Victoria Bathurst on Thursday, June 13, getting under way at 6pm.
Tickets cost $20 and are available from Eventbrite.
