Cabonne Council closed the road up to Mount Canobolas at about 1.45pm on Monday as snow built up on the road and landscape.
The temperature was only just above zero over lunchtime, with weatherzone.com.au stating the mercury was 0.5 degrees, with a 'feels-like' temperature of -7.2 degrees.

In Orange, 5.2mm of rain fell from 9am on Monday morning, with a centimetre or two of snow falling up the mountain.
Across the region, Oberon, Blayney, Barry and Yetholme all saw dustings of snow, with more expected in the higher regions of the Central West on Wednesday.
