headspace Orange will partner with the Ex-Services' Hockey Club in an effort to get more young men talking about their mental health.
Sharna Lord, headspace Orange Community Engagement Officer, said the stigma surrounding mental health can cause young men to not seek support.
"We know that there is still a stigma, and there is a stereotype that men need to put on a brave face and not reach out when they need support - but it's archaic and can be really damaging," she said.
The partnership seeks to challenge the gender stereotype that men can't struggle sometimes too.
"It's fantastic that we have local coaches joining our cause as they can play a large part in challenging the idea that young men need to be 'strong and masculine'," Ms Lord said.
"If coaches, fathers, teachers, grandparents - any male who may be a role model to young men - promote the importance of help seeking behaviour, we can educate this vulnerable group and help them understand that mental health is just as important as physical health."
Ms Lord said Orange residents need to work together to make sure young men get the support they need.
"It's a whole community effort that can save lives," she said.
Ex-Services' Hockey Club president Daryl Kennewell said men can get a bit lost in the world if they're trying to figure things out on their own.
"I just want them to know that they're not alone," he said. "They can always get help from their mates."
