The Museums Australasia Publication Design Awards were presented in the Northern Territory last week with the Orange Regional Museum winning awards in the category for exhibitions with an operating budget of less than $8 million.
It won the Exhibition Branding Package award and the Judges special award and was highly commended for its brochure and for a children's activity book, Alvin's Adventure.
The judges described the exhibition branding, done by one of council's designers Natasha Townsend, as an "ambitious suite of branding which made the most of many touch points. The design is fresh, fun and dynamic."
Ms Townsend and museum manager Allison Campbell attended the awards.
Orange City Council Services Policy Committee chair Stephen Nugent said the MAPDA awards included exhibitions from Australia and New Zealand.
