A sale of the fittings and furnishings in the Five Ways Uniting Church on Bathurst Road attracted a lot of interest last Saturday.
Church spokesman Ken Allen said it raised about $7000 with most items sold.
"It went very well. It was interesting to see the pews going in all directions on the back of trailers and utes," he said.
He said some items, including pews, were bought by church members who had a connection to them.
Mr Allen said the pulpit was destined for another former church "out Forest Reefs way" which is being converted by its owner.
The church building is currently for sale for $825,000.
