Guests from the Bathurst and North Sydney chapters of the organisation - founded in the early part of the 20th century with the objective of fostering an environment for members to experience great wine, food and fellowship on a regular basis - joined the city's members at Zona Kitchen Bar Events for the dinner.
The evening's printed menu referenced a quote from British wine critic Michael Broadbent: "drinking good wine with good food in good company is one of life's most civilised pleasures", which club president Roger Toffolon said neatly encapsulated the spirit of the organisation's gatherings.
"I believe this sums up the ideals of the Orange Beefsteak and Burgundy Club and should guide us through the next 50 years," Mr Toffolon said.
"We enjoyed some fabulous food, matched with excellent wines, in the company of good friends and colleagues.
"Special thanks to those involved in the organisation of the dinner and in particular to our winemaster, Murray Fletcher, who selected an outstanding assortment of wines and worked closely with the staff at Zona to finalise the menu."
Guest speaker on the night was winemaker Chris Derrez, who spoke about his experiences making and judging top drops both in the Orange region and in his native France.
