Condobolin ran with the defending premiers, eventually drawing level with the Blue Heelers' girls and snatching a point from them via a 14-all draw.
Cargo coach Anthony Regan said his side's opposition was tremendous on Sunday and would prove a tough assignment for a lot of sides as the second half of the 2019 season draws close.
But he was also super proud of the effort from the Blue Heelers, a side still undefeated and on top of the 2019 ladder.
"Our side, half of it is all new. We're starting from scratch again, basically," Regan said.
"It's about giving them the confidence to go out there and do their best and they did that on Sunday.
Winning last year, that experience got us the point last weekend.

"The girls are going well. We were short last week so we did well to match the Condo girls; they're one of the better sides we've come up against. They've got speed across the park."
Regan said a number of his side's new faces - namely Brooke Redfern and Shalana Walsh - were excelling while some of the Heelers' more seasoned faces were on the sidelines.
Western gun Heidi Regan is still in a moon boot but Theika McNaught has returned from a knee injury.
"We'll keep working hard to improve. They've had their backs to the wall. We could have had 20 points put on us last week but we're defending well. We've worked hard on that this year," Regan added.
"Winning last year, that experience got us the point last weekend."
In other round seven league tag games, Manildra scored a 32-4 win over Trundle, Molong got over Peak Hill 44-16 and Grenfell knocked over Canowindra 18-16.
In the top grade, Trundle secured a hard-fought 24-18 victory over Manildra in the first grand final rematch of the 2019 season last Saturday at Berryman Oval.
On Sunday, the Grenfell Goannas put in another top display to down the Canowindra Tigers 44-22 while the Molong Bulls were far too good for the Peak Hill Roosters, winning 40-22.
And at Condobolin, a first-half blitz from the Blue Heelers where the Anthony Redfern's men raced in three tries in five minutes helped set up a 30-24 win over the Rams.
Down 4-0 after five minutes, the Blue Heelers rocketed to a 16-4 lead before another couple of late tries - to Chris Jones and Tyrone Sullivan - helped Cargo to a 24-8 advantage at the break.
The hosts fought back, but the visiting Cargo boys held on to win by six.
In two youth league games, Manildra won 34-16 over Trundle and Cargo claimed a thrilling 28-26 victory over Molong. Grenfell had the bye.
