Emergency services were called to Wentworth Golf Club in the early hours of Saturday morning after reports of a fire at the Ploughmans Lane site.
At about 1.40am NSW Fire and Rescue firefighters began working to extinguish the blaze in the clubhouse and restaurant building, and spent several hours throughout the night trying to bring it under control.
Nearby residents told the Central Western Daily they heard an explosion before the building burst into flames, but as of Saturday morning the cause of the blaze was unknown and is the subject of an investigation.

The club offered its thanks to the firefighters for their efforts to limit the damage.
Saturday's competition and social rounds have been cancelled.
