He even went one further to thumb his nose at the crucial migrant electoral vote by declaring that he does not speak their language.
Yes, we understand that, Mr Romano, and since the migrants speak the Queen's language, please tell us exactly what language you are referring to.
Solving regional challenges requires someone who has an all-inclusive approach who takes advantage of the collective knowledge and expertise of the communities
Here are some facts on migrants for Mr Romano to ponder:
- The Australian Parliament Joint Standing Committee on Migration through the report prepared by NSW SLASA has acknowledged the role migration has played in building Australia's long-term productive capacity, through expansion of consumer markets for local goods, opening up of new markets and introduction of skilled workforce in the Australian labour market.
- According to the AHIW (2018), migrant/overseas trained health professionals contribute 33 per cent of medical practitioners to the Australian health workforce, 41 per cent of which are currently working in rural and remote areas of Australia.
Solving regional challenges requires someone who has an all-inclusive approach who takes advantage of the collective knowledge and expertise of the communities, and Mr Romano you have displayed that you are not the right person for that job.
I hope voters will make that message clear to you on Saturday.
