The concert will feature works by Melanie Cother-McDonnell, Bill Martin, Cameron Lam and Amy Stevens, and the orchestra will also perform Bizet's Carmen Suite No 1 and Smetana's Die Moldau from Ma Vlast.
Ms Cother-McDonnell said her work, Requiem and Exultation for piano, orchestra and choir, took 20 years to write, inspired by her great-uncle mourning her great-aunt's death.
"It's a celebration of music that lifts the soul up a bit," she said.
"It sounds amazing, I use composition software, but it's completely different to hear it in person."
The concert starts at 5.30pm - tickets are $25 for adults and $15 for children, available from Orange Regional Conservatorium.
