THIS issue has been long running and contentious but much needed, a bit like the Eastern Suburbs railway line and the Blue Mountains tunnel.

What has just appeared for sale are two shopfronts on Summer Street almost directly opposite the Robertson Park Cenotaph.
Therein lies a possible solution: Orange City Council acquires this property after securing a deal with the Country Women's Association to swap titles with their Robertson Park site.
So the CWA gets the Summer Street site with its 81 square metres and toilet facilities for their activities, and the council gets the CWA building in the park to convert into a toilet facility.
Both benefit - the CWA gets a location in a high-traffic area and the council gets a facility visible in the park which can be adapted easily to the use desired.
