Next week, homes and businesses will 'pop the kettle on' for a special cause, with thousands around the country taking part in Australia's Biggest Morning Tea.
The official day for the Cancer Council fundraiser is May 23, although Orange residents can register to host at any time throughout May or June.
Participants are encouraged to host their own way - whether it's at home with friends or family, morning tea in the office with workmates or a gathering at school.
Cancer Council Community Relations Coordinator Bree Kelly helped launch the event at The Sonic on Monday.
Miss Kelly said the Cancer Council has hosts across the Central West who have supported them for more than 20 years.
"This generosity enables us to continue our work in cancer research, prevention programs, advocacy and support services," she said.
Miss Kelly said more than 138,000 Australians are estimated to be diagnosed with cancer this year.
"It's vitally important that those affected can access suitable support services, such as Cancer Council 13 11 20, counselling and peer support programs," she said.
Last year, more than $11.3 million was raised nationally.
This year, Cancer Council hopes to recruit over 26,000 generous morning tea hosts and raise over $12 million to help those affected by cancer.
