The two sides went head-to-head on Saturday with neither side having suffered through a loss in season 2019, and the match delivered goals aplenty.
While Waratahs dominated early and hitting the woodwork, but after the dam wall broke with a Ryan Sinclair penalty in the 25th minute the reigning premiers were able to find the back of the net, eventually coming away with a 4-1 victory to go a game clear on top of the table.
I feel we played really well, we had most of the possession and the run of play ... then after we kicked the goal from the penalty we kept scoring.
- Waratah FC skipper Ryan Sinclair
Sinclair, who captains the side, said it was good to have the side's best squad on the park for the first time this season, with injuries and player availability meaning the squad of 20 hadn't put their best 11 forward yet.
"I feel we played really well, we had most of the possession and the run of play ... then after we kicked the goal from the penalty we kept scoring," Sinclair said.
Craig Sugden found the back of the net twice while Guy Burgess also scored for Waratahs.
Milthorpe has bounced back after a rough start to the ODFA season in securing a 5-2 win over Waratah United in Orange.
It was the club's first win for the season after a loss and a draw in their opening two games, and leaves Waratah United still looking for its first taste of success for the year.
Cowra proved too clinical for Ex-Services in their 4-0 win, while two Barnstoneworth sides clashed, with United defeating Saints 5-0.
Saints Igite defeated KWS 3-2 in their B-grade clash on Sunday, which was a catch-up game for the missed round three clash, making the ideal rebound from their 3-2 loss to Waratah Wolfpack on Saturday.
Barnies Rangers defeated the Bobcats 8-0, while KWS defeated Cowra 1-0 in their Saturday clash and Barnies United beat Saints Stars 1-0.
