This town and many surrounding areas have seen so much loss of life lately through suicide. It does not discriminate as we have lost teens, young men, women of all ages, farmers, dad's, aunties, uncles and brothers.
With the help of the courageous townspeople I ask for your help via one little bit of hope that may change someone's life.
All I ask is for 50 cents, as I would like to raise money to have a wooden bench seat established in either Orange Botanical Gardens or the beautiful Cook Park.
Imagine sitting in a quiet, beautiful area listening to the sound of our country town thinking of a loved one you have lost.
This bench seat will be a place any person can take a seat at for a quiet moment to remember someone or for a chat with someone who may need a friend.
Mental health comes in many forms and can be helped in many ways - a simple gesture with a big impact may just help one person one day.
I lost my brother to suicide 11 years ago and each year look for some way to remember him. It does not just have to be for suicide. We all lose people in our lives to different things.
I don't think 50 cents is too much to ask. With the right planning from the council it would take around 1200 people to buy a seat and have it put in.
Imagine sitting in a quiet, beautiful area listening to the sound of our country town thinking of a loved one you have lost.
