Housing Plus - in partnership with Skillset and Joblink Plus - will work with social housing clients in Western and Far West NSW to improve their employment prospects and free up housing for others in need.
The Opportunities Pathways program will be funded for the next three years through the NSW government's Family and Community Services, as part of the state government's aim to improve the social housing system.
Housing Plus Senior Manager for Community and Clients Programs, Penny Dordoy said the voluntary program will focus on helping men and women at every step of their path to employment.
We want to see our clients getting into rental houses or, ideally, into home ownership

"The target will be people who are ready for change and we'll support them on the journey to get them job ready," she said.
Coordinators for the program will work with clients in Orange, Bathurst, Dubbo and Broken Hill to identify social barriers which may hinder clients ability to maintain employment and seek solutions to prevent the problems.
Ms Dordoy said the aim was to get clients out of social housing and into something more secure.
"We want to see our clients getting into rental houses or, ideally, into home ownership," she said.
Ms Dordoy said Opportunities Pathways comes off the back of a pilot program Housing Plus ran with 10 of their clients, of which 80 per cent left the program employed.
Opportunities Pathways will be open to the more than 900 people in social housing in Orange, provided they are 17 years of age or older and meet the adequate education level.
Skillset CEO Craig Randazzo said the program will provide social housing clients in Western and Far West NSW with the tools to make a positive difference in their life, through employment and skills development.
"We will also utilise our extensive relationships with over 180 employment pathways to help individuals take that next step to becoming more independent and open themselves up to greater opportunities," he said.
Ms Dordoy said several Housing Plus clients had already expressed an interest in taking part in the program.
