Sometime between Thursday and Tuesday, a gun safe was forced open and five firearms were stolen from the house, including a Stirling .22 calibre rifle, a Lithgow .303 calibre rifle, a Winchester .243 calibre rifle, a Remington .222 calibre rifle, and a double-barrel shotgun.
The police have asked to speak with anyone who has information on the break-in that may assist with an arrest.
An investigation is also underway into the shooting of a 30-year old man on Summer Street East in the early hours of Sunday morning.
The man presented at Orange hospital with a gunshot wound to the leg, for which he underwent surgery and has since been released.
Central West Police District have asked anyone who knows anything about either incident to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or Orange police on 6363 6399.
