Jetgirl goes into Thursday's Anzac Day Sprint Benchmark 66 Handicap (1,200 metres) on the back of a half length win at Wellington earlier this month, her fifth win from 13 career starts since debuting at the beginning of 2018.

Her three wins over her past four starts have carried Jetgirl up from a 60 to a 73 benchmark, although she will lug 62.5 kilograms for Thursday's sprint as a result.

Mirfin is confident his star mare can carry that burden though, with Ash Stanley's allowance actually lightening to load from the initial 64.5 she was handed.

"This was just the right race that popped up at the right time. We had her nominated at Canberra as well but she'll run at Bathurst," he said.

"[Stanley] is lucky that she's got the two kilo allowance otherwise she would have been at 64 and a half kilos."

If Jetgirl gets her rating up towards the 80 mark then finding feasible country racing becomes a much tougher task.

Should she continue to win in the west then Mirfin believes his Nicconi mare will fare well in provincial and metropolitan company.

"She's always been a really promising mare. It took her a while to develop but she's racing well," he said.

"We might try and get her to win a race in the city in the future. She keeps on going up the grades which puts her up in weights here.

"She's been racing there a few times before but didn't handle the trip very well. She's in a better frame of mind at her age now and she should handle it better now."

There's strong competition among the field for the $22,000 sprint on Thursday.

Caliera Gem has won two out of three starts to begin her career for Hawkesbury trainer Craig Weeding while Cadman drops back in class for Dubbo trainer Merv Rumble in a bid for win number eight.

Fellow Bathurst trainer Paul Theobald has veteran sprinter Dunderry making his 36^th start on his home track.

Mirfin has five horses going around in Thursday's big Bathurst meeting.

Last start winner Skipper Joe will chase more success in the Class 1 Handicap (1,200m).

Battle Quest and Phenomena are looking to get off the mark in the Harvest Cafe & Store Maiden Handicap (1,400m) and Press Box is out to do the same in the 3YO & Up Maiden Plate (1,100m).

Press Box is a new addition for Mirfin, having come up winless in Chris Waller's Randwick stable. The country change could provide a turn in fortunes for the Hinchinbrook filly.
