There's seemingly countless candidates considering the efforts throughout last year and while the victors will no doubt have earned it, they need to get nominated if they're any chance to reap their deserved rewards.
Orange City Council's sport and recreation committee chairman Jason Hamling sent a timely reminder nominations for the 2018 Sports Awards will close next Friday, April 26, and urged the community to get behind any athlete or team they think deserves a nod.
"2019 was another year of major achievement in sport by people from Orange. Now's the time for residents to think about that major sports performance and put a nomination in," Hamling said.
"The annual Orange City Council Sports Awards are a fantastic way to acknowledged the achievements of our colleagues, friends and teammates."
Hamling went on to say there's already been a plethora of worthy candidates for the Senior Sportsperson of the Year, Junior Sportsperson of the Year, Team of the Year and Sports Personality of the Year award too, but expects more to come in over the next week.
"There's been a good number of entries already, but with the closing date next week there's still room for a few more," he said.
The Orange City Council Sports Awards aren't limited to the competitions we know and love either, with areas of administration and management along with school sport nominations encouraged.
There remains plenty of speculation as to who could be the front-runners in 2018.
While Jason Belmonte - arguably the greatest tenpin bowler of all-time - claimed 2017's senior gong after a bumper year the list of potential winners for 2018 is endless, and it's the same in terms of the junior equivalent, Kinross Swim Club's Emily Nobbs is the reigning winner of that one.
The Team of the Year award is set to be fiercest battle, with the likes of Orange Emus and the Orange Tigers both winning premierships, while Orange Netball Association won back its Netball NSW Bing Lee West-Central West Regional League crown.
Head to the Orange City Council's website and follow the prompts to nominate.
