Lucas Street is less than 200 metres from Bowen Primary School and Dudley Primary Hospital, and just over a block from St Mary's Catholic Primary School.
Chief Inspector Atkins didn't go into detail about the items recovered.
"We found a number of things which we will allege were stolen during recent break-ins," he said.
As of Thursday, police are yet to arrest anyone in following Monday's search.
