A 27-year-old man has been charged with take/detain with intent to obtain advantage, damage property by fire with intent to injure, destroy / damage property with intent to endanger life, use offensive weapon to prevent lawful detention and resist officer in execution of duty.
He will appear before bail court on Thursday.
The charges come after the man - who is from Bourke - held up two other men in a siege which left a house ablaze in Glenroi on Wednesday night.
The accused approached the property in Garema Road about 7pm on Wednesday to speak to the occupants, an 18-year-old man and a 59-year-old man, who police say were unknown to him.

Central West Police District chief inspector Peter Atkins said the 27-year-old assailant allegedly produced a knife and threatened the two men.
The elder of the two fled through a door to the unit and notified police, while the younger man was unable to escape and remained in the house with the 27-year-old.
Police attended the unit, where they established a crime scene, set up a perimeter and began negotiating with the assailant.
Chief inspector Atkins said neighbours were evacuated some time into the operation.
The property was set ablaze at about 11pm, with police alleging the fire was lit by the 27-year-old assailant, who was caught by police after he threatened them with a hammer.
Chief inspector Atkins confirmed the man was tasered.
Firefighters were able to extinguish the blaze in short order, and no one was injured by the fire.
Both the 18-year-old and 59-year-old were treated at the scene as a precaution, but are believed to be uninjured, while a police officer who was bitten by a dog during the incident was also treated.
The 27-year-old suspect remains in custody in Orange Police Station, where it's expected he will be charged later on Thursday. Police remain on the scene.
