A HALF-TONNE angler fish sculpture has earned its weight in gold after receiving the people's choice award at the Sculpture in an Orange Garden event on the weekend.

The steel fish, named A Bright Side of Death, won its maker, Luke Hort, a $2000 prize.
Vikki Holik-Blazley's timber horse, Greylight, came second and she received $1000.
Friends of Orange Regional Gallery president Richard Walker said Mr Hort was deserving.
"It weighed 500 kilograms, it was a monster," he said of the sculpture.
The two-day selling exhibition at Rosemont started with a Friday night cocktail function this year, with proceeds from the event helping FORG contribute to the gallery's operation and collection.
It attracted 70 sculptors with 300 individual sculptures this year, and more than 1200 visitors came to see them.
Last year's event raised $20,000 and Mr Walker expected this year's effort to match it.
